This legislation applies the 1,000 foot buffer between a residential subdivision platted and recorded in the superior court clerk's office and a stand-alone crematory that received its license on or after July 1, 2009.  Any crematory that was not in operation on July 1, 2016, will be now be required to be located at least 2,000 feet away from any residential subdivision platted and recorded in the superior court clerk's office.
